Nature as art
In 2019, even before the COVID-19 pandemic, Wanderout quietly began its preparations. Before we knew it, five years have already passed. To mark this milestone, we have carefully selected photographs taken since the brand’s inception and are presenting them as the photo ZINE “Rhythm of Nature.” We hope you can quietly experience the unique worldview of Wanderout, one that harmonizes with nature.
Over these past five years, the time spent leisurely in nature has given us countless insights. Originally, mountains, seas, and rivers were not considered “places to play,” but rather sacred realms cherished as sites for ascetic training and purification rituals. The concept of outdoor leisure emerged only about a hundred years ago—a mere moment when viewed against the backdrop of Earth’s long history. We hope to once again share the awareness that nature is not something to be “conquered.”
“Rhythm of Nature” is a tranquil photo ZINE that explores the intersection of design, humanity, and nature. It weaves together the breath of nature felt in both Japan and Canada, as well as everyday scenes captured by SORT,
unfolding a profound visual story that gently guides you along the rhythms of nature. Beautiful products that move effortlessly between indoors and outdoors. The unique perspectives of Wanderout and SORT quietly resonate with nature.
We are truly grateful to have been able to express this wonderful project together with SORT and Studio Faculty.
In Japan today, a series of earthquakes has created a sense of tension in daily life. Precisely because of this, we hope that the tranquility and healing brought by nature and art will help bring even a little peace to everyone’s hearts, and serve as an opportunity to deepen our understanding of nature.
