IIn Tsubame, Niigata — one of the world’s most renowned regions for stainless steel craftsmanship — Conte continues to create utensils designed with a commitment to “comfort in everyday cooking.” This beautifully crafted punching plate is made for daily use in the kitchen, yet it also proves to be an ideal companion for outdoor cooking.

Most stainless-steel cookpot sets from outdoor brands have a standard diameter of 180 mm. In search of a perfectly fitting strainer, we arrived at Conte’s 188 mm plate. Thanks to this precise sizing, it fits compactly either inside or on top of these pot sets.

When paired with the Conte / Makanai Round Tray 180, it serves wonderfully as a temporary rest for freshly cut ingredients, a colander for rinsed vegetables, or a draining rack for fried foods. Used together with a stainless pot set, it drains stock without trapping ingredients between mesh wires, unlike conventional woven strainers. It can even double as a steaming plate inside our favored seiro bamboo steamer. The clean, straight 180 mm alignment creates a modern impression, while the refined stainless surface elevates the presence of whatever you place on it—an understated piece of true craftsmanship.
